Coborn’s completes their implementation of Logile Inc.’s Enterprise Labor Planning (ELP) Software Suite

Coborn’s, Inc., 2011 Independent Retailer of the Year, is capitalizing on improved customer service levels and productivity gains after completing their implementation of Logile Inc.’s Enterprise Labor Planning (ELP) software suite.

Jeff Kerr, Coborn’s Director of Workforce Management said, “Logile’s solution has improved our budgeting, period planning and weekly/daily forecasting processes. We now use the same standards-based engine to forecast our business and plan labor based on work content for long-term, short-term and detailed planning. Logile’s multiple algorithm approach to forecasting is outstanding. This is evident by the feedback we have received from our Store Directors. In most cases, the system is forecasting more accurately than our Store Directors. The same multiple algorithm approach optimizes 15- minute level shift placement to improve customer service levels while minimizing labor expense. The real win for Coborn’s is that ELP provides us with the ability to model changes in our store offerings or business practices. This ability is critical in an industry that is changing exponentially.”

“We see opportunity to add value for our guests and employees due to the implementation of Logile’s solution,” said Dave Meyer, VP of Operations and Retail Support Services at Coborn’s. “It’s taken us from a hodgepodge of Excel spreadsheets and Access databases with data imported and exported from multiple applications to a fully integrated and effective process. Instead of using labor standards just to target our hours and calculate our operating ratio, as many retailers do, we have adopted the power of Logile’s labor model, customized with our labor standards and their accurate forecasting, to operationalize our planning process. Logile’s solution lays the foundation for Coborn’s to take it to the next level.”

Purna Mishra, Logile’s President and CEO said, “Our experience collaborating with Coborn’s has been nothing short of spectacular. It is a rare privilege to collaborate with one of the most forward-thinking retailers in the industry. We are confident that our expertise in standards development, labor systems and labor training will serve small- to medium-sized retailers like Coborn’s very well. Our goal is to deliver to them a capacity for a strong competitive advantage!”

Coborn’s has implemented Logile’s advanced labor planning software to include Enterprise Standards Manager™Enterprise Labor Model™Sales and Labor Planning™Demand Forecasting™, and Performance Management and Reporting™.
